After reading the Islamic Thinking article, it hit me on using the word 'I' as it is slowly making me aware of one owns selfishness and how confusion overtakes us. There was a hadis I read not so long ago regarding confusion. It has something to do with one's faith. Our faith and knowledge depends on how low it is that sets the confusion.

We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space but not inner space. We've done larger things, but not better things. We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait.

We build more computers to hold more information to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less. These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion; big men and small character; steep profits and shallow relationships.

These are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses but broken homes. These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throw-away morality, one-night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer to quiet, to kill. It is a time when there is much in the show window and nothing in the stock room.

A time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight, or to just hit delete.

Remember, spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever. Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side. Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn't cost a cent.

Remember, to say "I Love you" to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you. Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment, for some day, that person will not be there again. Give time to Love, give time to speak, give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind.

Signs Of Weak Iman

We all notice that Imaan can be up and down, as Rasool of Allah told us: "al-Iman wears out in each and everyone of you and me like a "thaub" (garment) wears out (like our clothes wears out and they become shabby eventually. Iman wears out like that "thaub"). So Rasool of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) advised us (since our Iman wears out) "So all of you Muslims, should ask Allah (swt) to RENEW the Iman in our hearts." (Hadeeth reported by al-Haakim in al-Mustadrak, Al-Haythami in Majma al-Zawaaid, and by al-Tabaraani in al-Kabeer)

For that, we have to know what are the "Signs of weak Imaan", so we can always be aware. Those are:

Committing sins and not feeling any guilt.
Having a hard heart and no desire to read the Quran.
Feeling too lazy to do good deeds, e.g. being late for salat
Neglecting the Sunnah.
Having mood swings, for instance being upset about petty things and bothered and irritated most of the time.
Not feeling anything when hearing verses from the Quran, for example when Allah warns us of punishments and His promise of glad tidings.
Finding difficulty in remembering Allah and making dhikr.
Not feeling bad when things are done against the Shariah.
Desiring status and wealth.
Being mean and miserly, i.e. not wanting to part with wealth.
Ordering others to do good deeds when not practising them ourselves.
Feeling pleased when things are not progressing for others.
Being concerned with whether something is haram or halal only; and
not avoiding makroo (not recommended) things.
Making fun of people who do simple good deeds, like cleaning the
mosque.
Not feeling concerned about the situation of Muslims.
Not feeling the responsibility to do something to promote Islam.
Being unable to deal with calamities, for instance crying and
yelling in funerals.
Liking to argue just for the sake of arguing without any proof.
Becoming engrossed and very involved with dunya, worldly things, i.e. feeling bad only when losing something in terms of material wealth.
Becoming engrossed and obsessive about ourselves.

My Iman fluctuates from time to time which makes me a hypocrite to our creator. I get caught up with the worldly things too.=s Hopefully this can help remind our muslim readers out there. Salam all.

Everyday as I wake up at dawn
My mind start working the moment I yawn
There were many things to do, o dear!
That's why I hastily did my Subuh prayer
I didn't have the time to sit longer to praise the Lord
To me rushing out after prayer is nothing odd...

Since school, I had been busy every minute
Completi...ng my tutorials and handing it in
My ECAs took up most of my time always
No time did I have to Allah to pray
Too many things to do and zikir is rare
For Allah, I really had no time to spare..

When I grew up and started my career
Working all day to secure my future
When I reached home, I prefered to have fun
I chatted on the phone but i didn't read the Quran
I spent too much time surfing the Internet
Sad to say, my faith was falling flat...

The only time I have left is weekends
During which I prefer window shopping with friends
I couldn't spare time to go to the Masjid
I'm too busy, that's the BIG EXCUSE...

I did my five prayers but did so quickly
After prayer, I didn't sit longer to reflect quietly
I didn't have time to help the needy ones
I was loaded with work as my precious time runs

No time at all to visit a sick Muslim friend
To orphans and elderly, I hardly lent a hand
I'm too busy to do community service
When there were gatherings, I helped the least

My life was already full of stress
So I didn't counsel a Muslim in distress
I didn't spend much time with my family
B'coz i thought, doing so is a waste of time...

No time to share with non-Muslim about Islam
Even though I know, inviting causes no harm
No time to do Sunnah prayers at all
All these contribute to my imaan's fall..

I'm busy here and busy there
I've no time at all, that's all I care
I went for religious lessons, just once in awhile
Coz i'm too busy making a pile...

I worked all day and i slept all night
Too tired for Tahajjud and it seemed not right
To me, earning a living was already tough
so i only did basic deeds but that's not enough..

No time at all, to admire God's creation
No time to praise Allah and seek His Compassion
Although I know how short is my life
For Islam, I really didn't strive..

Finally the day comes, when the Lord calls for me
And I stood before Him with my Life's History

I feel so guilty b'coz i should have prayed more
Isn't that what a Muslim lives for?
To thank Allah and do more good deeds
And the Quran is for us all to read..

Now at Judgement Day, I'm starting to fret
I've wasted my life but it's too late to regret
My entry to Paradise depend on my good behaviour
But i've not done enough nor did proper prayer

My "good deed book" is given from my right
An angel opened my "book" and read out my plight.
Then the angel chided me....

"O You Muslim servant, you are the one,
Who is given enough time, yet not much is done
Do you know that your faith is loose?
saying "no time" is only an excuse.
Your "good deed book" should be filled up more
with all the good work you stood up for..

Hence, I only recorded those little good deeds
As I say this, I know your eyes will mist..
I was about to write some more, you see
But i did not have, THE TIME to list".......

So the new year is here and it has been 2 weeks since. Didn't kick off the new year with a bang like usual. The quiet change was something I long for but not the reason behind it. So unexpected in within the final month of 2009, whirlwind of emotions stirs up inside due to the death of my dearly late father. Everything happened so quick in a blink of an eye.There weren't any signs to tell he was going. He' has always been a fighter,with his numerous hospital check-ins, Alhamdulillah, he always survived every operation he had to undergo, then.

Final goodbyes was left floating like a lost soul floating between heaven and hell. When he left I wished I had spent just one more day with him. But i've overcome that regret although there are times I still wish I have a picture of just us together ='( I'm left with just memories. My birthday too was quiet.

Losing one the biggest love of my life has hit me with the truth of more challenges to come. Pain still remains,sadness,grief but I can still be happy. I'll overcome this in my own pace.I'll cry when I want to,when I miss him. This doesn't mean I won't be able to move on. But the good thing to what happened gave us all the time to reflect, to realise the love that's been there all along.

Thank you for lifting my spirits with your wise jokes in my moments of sadness.Thank you for taking care of me,for taking me in. Thank you for being the rock of the family.Thank you for being the greatest dad,thank you for being you. Thank you for everything Pa! So I was never on hiatus updating this blog. Mostly lazy and uninspired which leaves me being ignorant. Since partly it's a John Mayer music blog, he is currently busy working on his new album (the man is a religious twithead! Check his twitter for any unrelated random music updates), so not much i can say there for now. Other than that,my laptop isn't with me at the moment =s

As for the author of this blog, well, i can't seem to type how productive my days has been. There are some sports,work,leisure mainly. The productivity being held,is in my mind mainly which better much expressed here huh?(and mostly on twitter but i'm no John Mayer) Some are personal though.Let's just say i'm trying to fix things, make amends. Especially after pulling a stunt during the time of my exams. It's something best not to look at but learn from such mistake. If someone were to ask me what have I learned from this year,i'd say being patient and to take things one step at a time. To THINK before doing anything and plan ahead.Looks like it's time for me to make good again and prepare for the real world.

Other than that,summer is here and my lovely friends are back,Alhamdulillah=) I've learned to care for a certain someone which pretty much leads me back to the my loved ones. A realisation of learning to value the people around me.Family,friends,good people in general. I had a good chilled out summer with A. Thank you.It was good to have u back.

Enough about me.Ramadhan is here once again,Alhamdulillah. So i'd like to take this opportunity to wish all muslims while we're still performing one of our rukun Islam duties, HAPPY RAMADHAN.May it be a blessed one. And to my family members who are away right now,even if i hardly see them ,I miss them.TTFN!Assalamualaikum=)

Forgetful Much

*Small sibling gathering last week. It took me a while to realise I was wearing 2 different pairs of Crocs towards the end of the gathering. They felt so alike that I hardly notice the difference hehehe.

*Played futsal the night after that. Room key in my pocket. I didn’t realise i dropped it on my way to the tennis court. As I head back home, my bro found it in a flower pot. How weird is that? Especially when i didn’t walk pass any flower pots before futsal.

*Monday is laundry day for me usually. All this while whilst all my clothes were in the washing machine, apparently my earphones was in it too!

Theres one incident in Singapore last year where I packed all my foot wear and left none to put on to fly back home.Our lugagges had to be sent to the airport a few hours before we arrive in the airport.After packing everything in the wee hours of morning,I slept for a bit whitout any worries.Only when i woke up,it just hit me what i was suppose to leave behind.The luggages gone already.So i thought its either hotel slippers or barefoot.But oddly enough ,yet lucky for me,my sister left 2 footwears behind. I was serious about the hotel slippers though lol.

A Great Learning Experience

So that went well.A few misses here and there,but all and all,alhamdulillah!But who would've thought it would turn to be such a big event?The media was there to cover the event.Click here and here to read more.
I'm going to miss my qur'an teacher.If it wasn't for her,reading the Qur'an would still leave me astray whitout her guidance.Writing and reading jawi was never easy for me as I use to fail terribly in ugama studies/ejaan or tulisan jawi (I sucked in malay as well,big time!).Only because I kept on reading till I khatam, that to my surprise,I was amazed when I thought my younger brother jawi a couple of years back thatI was able to read any (malay) jawi easily.I came up with my own technique to make the rest understand how to spell it.Did it work?Only Allah knows.But im positive it did hehe.Being the not so pious person I am,reading the Qur'an is rather joyful,a pure one indeed.

I'll always remember the wisdom and advice you fall upon me.And value what you have thought me.You have humbled me in a way that even on most days ill admit to have desserted the holy book.But in times of be it sorrow or happinness i will always resort to what makes me chant with true meaning.More than 20 years of having you around my family has been a blessing.Thank you from the bottom of my heart Cikgu.

7th August is always a special day for my mother every year.As of today she just turned 45.This day is also extra special,in terms of religion.We're going to hold a khatam Al-Qur'an ceremony.I am one of the 18 people who'll be reciting the surahs tonight.Weeks of practice has prepared me for this day.And I hope it will be a blessed one.Amin!Im glad to have sharpen my reading the Qur'an for it will help me tremendously to being a better person in the future.It's going to start in 2hours.I pray we won't screw up and hope no one's going to muck around (speak for my self,gauk much!!hehehe ;p)Big night tonight.

Heres a starting point.The female songbirds. Singing has always been the first thing that caught my attention, as it is my first love in music.I lose myself easily in the realm of their voices.It was mainstream female RnB,Soul,Pop music that my caretaker and my siblings surrounded me with (other than oldies, love songs, ballads...ill be sure to blog about this one day)and of course MTV,my main source back then.But nonetheless,its not just them chanting that i pay attention to, but also their talents in playing instruments but most importantly its also their songwriting that defines themselves as true female artist.

We were in his dressing room backstage.He was holding on to his camera taking photos for his blog.As we sat around a round table he asked if i could take pictures with him.Taking photos casually,i was thinking to myself why don't he just kiss me like Enrique Iglesias does to one of his fans while he's performing.He probably read my mind, asking me to pretend that we want to kiss as the camera clicks away.But i couldn't help it,i leaned closer and pucker him up gently.His cherry lips was oh so soft,it was electric.It took him a while to move back,he looked awe struck.The next thing i know i was on his lap and we made out again even longer.Only to realise twas just a dream.Doh!

Im going to edit this from time to time.But for now bare with me on this one hehe

* To watch John Mayer live in concert-good seat & good view thank you.If i get to meet him,even better!
* Get a Fender 1962 American Vintage Hot Rod Stratocaster (or any good Fenders for that matter)
* If i can't get a Fender,any Les Paul Gibson guitar will do too
* Live in Hawaii-life looks simpler & happier there plus i'm dying to go surfing.
* Broaden my knowledge in Art-that way i'll know which genre/media appeals to me the most
* Learn music especially the art of singing & guitaring
* Direct a movie-i had this dream once when i was in my early teens.I dreamt so big on winning a freakin' Oscar for best motion pictue or original screenplay haha
* Go to Mecca & Medina again-despite the tensions,the tranqulity i experienced was so pure i felt really light as if all the burden the world had to offer me never exist.
* Write a hit lyric for a well known artist who are musically talented & who deserve it-John Mayer if possible.It would be even better if i get to duet with him both guitar & sing
